New Drivers

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, Devin Gilpin will no longer be piloting the #88 rocket for JP Motorsports. Travel difficulties and scheduling conflicts hindered plans of Devin driving full time. His prior obligation and dedication to winning his second straight UMP modified national championship made scheduling race dates a little tough. We wish him all the best! Tommy Bailey will be taking over reigns of the #88 car. Tommy hails from Corbin, KY. In his elite 16 year career, he has compiled 100 + victories. Also, for the first time since our inception, we will be running two cars at select races. Donnie Everman will be steering our second addition to the JP Motorsports team, the #188 Rayburn race car. We are enthused about the rest of this season, and anticipate much success!

First of the season!

On Friday, April 5th, 2013, the JP Motorsports crew ventured to Moler Raceway Park, in Williamsburg, OH, for the park's season opening event, the Defrost 40. After finishing 4th in his heat race, driver Devin Gilpin earned the 8th place starting spot in the 40 lap feature race. A caution flag was waved on only the second lap, but Gilpin had already gained two spots, moving up to the sixth position. By the fifth lap, another caution occurred, and again Gilpin gained two more positions, claiming the fourth spot. Gilpin maneuvered his way to third and then second, behind only Barry Doss and the #7 race car. On lap 31 Gilpin claimed the lead and never looked back. In only his third start in a late model race car Devin Gilpin picked up an astonishing first victory. Congrats Devin and let's hope that this is the first of many more to come in the near future!!

1st Announcment for 2013

The upcoming 2013 race season looks to be a promising one for the JP Motorsports race team. With our first major announcement for the year we would like to proudly welcome Devin Gilpin from Colombus Indiana, our new driver for the 2013 season. Devin brings much success with him, crowned the 2012 National UMP Modified Champion, he compiled 36 wins in the 2012 season in his number 1G modified race car, and has a total of 102 under his belt thus far.

Devin has been behind the wheel of a modified race car since the age of 14. At 22, his most notable victory came in Putnamville, IN at Lincoln Park Speedway when he took the checkered flag at the Patriot 100, a 100 lap feature race. With such talent guiding this years race car, the future of JP Motorsports looks extremely optimistic. Owner Jesse Puckett says, "We are incredibly anxious to get this season started, the engines running, and the car on a track somewhere. We couldn't be more excited to have the kid driving for us."

There will be several more new announcements coming in the near future.
